Just got this today from the Patents Office, who I approached last year to ask them to extend their competition to HE kids. I'm pleased to say they have!
"The Cracking Ideas competition 2008 to find the inventors of tomorrow is now open to all children aged 9 to 11 years – including those educated at home - and there are lots of great prizes.
Register your interest at www.crackingideas.com now and you will be entered in a free prize draw to win a laptop.
Last year primary school children came up with dozens of amazing ideas including a machine to wake you up and an invention to walk the dog.
This is your chance to get cracking with a brilliant new activity that brings innovation to life. Log on at www.crackingideas.com and you will find a fantastic resource – all fronted by Wallace & Gromit.
There are lesson plans, activities, film clips and information about why innovation is so exciting.
Get inventive and visit www.crackingideas.com now. "
Personally, I thought that whilst the ideas from last year's competition were great, I'm sure there are better ones out there in our community! Let's get our kids thinking about it now, and come up with some fabulous ideas. I'd soooo love to see an HE kid getting a major prize!
Pass it on!
