Thank you for your prayers

Dad has had his op. We don't know all the details at the moment, but what we do know is they did manage to remove the perforated section of bowel, and stitch the two bits together. he is in a ward on his own. He has a morphine line in so he can push the button for more pain relief whenever he wants. He's on oxygen and various drains, naturally after such major surgery. However, he was alert enough this afternoon to tell me he loved me (first time, I'm not joking, that he has ever actually SAID it directly to me), and this evening he was smiling at me, and even laughed (carefully!) at one of my silly comments.

So, our biggest fears at not realised - and there is some hope that maybe they won't be realised at all, and that he is on the long, long road to recovery now. It is very much one day at a time as until we have the results, and until we see a doctor (they are not on, over the weekend), we really don't know just what is still wrong, and what was wrong, with him.

I am very tired - spent most of last night sitting up with Mum, in tears. It was also draining to watch my brother cry (only 3rd time I've ever seen him cry - and he's 39) and be so scared. We truly thought we'd lost him last night as they prepared us for the worst.

I hope to stay home most of tomorrow with Roarke and the boys, though hopefully we'll get out and about too but I may go and see him myself in the evening. Next week somehow I will need to get up there all week, but Roarke is working and don't know how we are going to work it out.

Thank you so much for your prayers - we are truly blessed by your compassion.

I just looked you up to pass on some news and have read about your Dad. Great that he's through the immediate crisis - I'll pray for you all. I hope you can get some rest soon.
Just to let you know the homeschool blogger site is deleting some unused blogs - I couldn't find your old one on their list but in case you want to check, here's the link:

I am still praying.

I moved yet again. *Groan* I was having problems with bravenet, and decided to try another server. I sincerely hope this will be my last move! :-)

Hi again, how are things?
I'm praying :-)
Thanks for the lovely science links you sent me. I see the Oxfam one spills over into economics in a way - a subject which L is very keen on but where I know very little so it will be doubly useful. I think H will love the animal noises on another one - I had to turn the computer down in case I woke the house up!
Look after yourself,
